Chapter one
So many of them to choose from. I knew they were a lifetime commitment. But which one would be my faithful companion? Maybe the petite one chewing on the smiley face squeaky or the one that was dragging the washcloth across the floor claiming, “It’s mine and I’m not sharing!” instead I was drawn toward the puppy in the corner. But what made him so special? Well it was very funny because he evidently was peeing on the floor! I laughed and laughed knowing he was the one for me. I walked toward him, a huge grin on my face and he didn’t mind. He probably thought I was there to clean his little wet mess. Scooping him up, I was unaware his bottom was a bit sticky from the urine. I chuckled some more and declared to the breeder, “this is the one I want”.
The drive home was fun, OK FINE I WAS SO EXCITED! Maybe I myself was gonna make a major accident in my pants and onto the car seat! I keep sneaking glances at him, he was nervously chewing on his rope toy that I got from the breeder. Oh how cute his blue-rimmed eyes looked, the puppy eye color for Doberman dogs. His little brown dots over his eyes bounced up and down as he chewed. Being around him even made my hubba bubba gum change flavor every 5 minutes. First the regular grape flavor, then cinnamon, next was chocolate and finally almond.
My mother’s sleek cream-colored Mercedes Benz cruises straight into the gravel driveway, and parks right next my father’s navy blue BMW. His car was untouchable except to him. Not a scratch or dent on the glorious vehicle that has never seen rain or snow. I turned around, remembering the little bundle of fur that was next to me. He stared at me, scanning the face that would nurture him through his life. I lifted his dog carrier, making gently movement not to frighten him any further. He let out a little yelp is discomfort and I froze. A few seconds later, I resumed my slug-like walk. I was last to enter the house but it was totally worth it. I waddled up stairs with the puppy, leaped down stairs and galloped back up with the dog supplies. When I got back to my room, I was glad that he was waiting patiently.
Once again I fell for his eyes and a stainless steel food bowl clattered onto the carpet, startling both of us. I bent down I picked it up without breaking eye contact. I broke out of my trance and got to work. I laid out the two steel food and water bowl on the floor. A burst of chicken and turkey aroma drowned my nose as I pulled open a bag of Blue buffalo puppy chow. It smelled so good I was tempted to try a piece. I let the other dog toys rain down to the carpet. They were challenging yet fun, the kind of toys I was prompted to get. Now was the hard part, getting the puppy out of the carrier. My head quickly filled with questions. What if he bites me? What if he doesn’t like me? What if he thinks the puppy chow isn’t tasty? But my arms pushed myself to open the cage. I leaned forward. He just sat there, in a few moments he would be free of the crate.
He was out, sniffing the ground to inhale the smells. What should I name him? How about something ferocious like, spike or blade? Or something cute and adorable like sparkles or glitter. I know, Bear. Bear was cute, simple yet fierce and powerful. “Bear” I called silently. Bear lifted his head high and acknowledged me. He let out a yip and started eating the chow. The black collar I had for him fit like a glove.
I am going to get my dog the following for our very known, very Y!A-controversial trip. He will be in the car for appx. 12-14 hours with stops every 3-5 hours and a picinic stop for about an hour,
-A ‘hard’ dog carrier
-a dog bed
-a couple of towels and newspaper to line the carrier.
-toys
-dishes
-gallon of water
-bag of BLUE (c) dog food
What made you think he is a puppy? He is almost 3. And I have had him since he was 2 1/2 months old. He doesn’t get carsick

My hand inched forward to touch his lush coat. I only got to move 2 centimeters before he detected my movements and cowered away. I knew it would take a few days before he got used to me. Bear sniffed his wee wee pad. Wee wee pads are made of strong absorbent material that helped dogs and puppies do their business. These pads have a special scent that said “exert on me!”
He finished his meal and collapsed on his puppy bed. I mimicked his moves, dreaming of the adventures tomorrow.

I woke up, excited and ready for Bear. Its Saturday, I usually sleep until my mother threatens to dump me in the lake near my house. My eyes widened as I noticed Bear was GONE! His circular bed that was padded with a cushion was empty! I reached freaking out mode, my cotton sheets flew around my room. But there he was, sitting with his food bowl like a silver hat on his head.
I exhaled, he was safe. I refilled his bowl and watching him again. A few minutes later I was lying on my stomach bending a long blue puppy toy. It was a furry sausage like dog that was grinning and holding a surfboard while sporting some shades. I didn’t notice Bear was right beside me, wagging his tail. With a flick of my wrist the toy went flying, Bear was its follower. A dainty jump and the smiling dog was in the jaws of Bear.
His head shook with such force. I actually felt bad for the toy, stuck in tiny but pointy teeth, shaken like you were on a dead coaster but only this ride didn’t stop. Bear was enj

Every thing that I have is immaculately clean and everything still works. I am having a yard sale and I do not know what to charge??? Please give me some idea as to the prices???
Pooh Bear Swing–battery operated, full size, has all attatchments, rediculously clean!
Older model Play Saucer. Very clean, has all attatchments, but is a few years old. I bought it used for 20 dollars 1 year ago.
Dex brand Wipe Warmer–Used it for a few days but it gave my son diaper rash??? It looks brand new and cost 20 dollars originaly
a set of Playtex Vent-aire bottles and nipples–every thing is there–used each one maybe three times
Evenflo baby suite play yard–with matching sheets-once again, brand new, but we did not recieve the instructions with it (it was a gift) and never figured out how to use it
3 gently used diaper bags
Also I have a dog carrier for a small dog that was used once and is very clean
You know exactly what I’m talking about. When you see a "teacup" (read: Runt) chihuahua in a pink outfit complete with shoes, in a "dog carrier" handbag. People dressing their dogs up as bees, rabbits, etc.
How do you feel about it? I’m all for people making their dogs wear coats in the winter to keep them warm (not that you have that problem with a dog that wants to live in a mountain of snow!), but the people that dress their dogs up.
Do you think it’s ok? Or do you think it’s unacceptable? When is it acceptable?
Best answer goes to whoever justifies their opinion, not just anyone that reflects my belief.
