Moments to remember: I need cute/creative ideas to tell daddy he is going to be a daddy again! Help! :)?
I’m thinking I might be pregnant with our second child. My husband is going to explode with excitement since he has been BEGGING me for the last year to get pregnant again!! I want to come up with an adorable way to say I am pregnant (obviously after I find out for sure!). With our daughter that is turning 2 at the end of this month I told him by a letter trail.. I left 7 letters (we were married on 7-7-2007, 7 is my lucky number, 7 is the number of completion in the Bible) every other letter was written in baby blue or pastel pink ink.. I left them in all of our favorite places- where we were married, the barn with our horse stuff, favorite locations etc.. the 2nd to last letter I told him to meet me at the beach and the final letter was in my pocket. When he got there after reading all these letters about how amazing he was and life was.. so on and so on I told him I was going to make him one very happy camper.. at the time I had 5 dogs, 4 horses, 2 cats, 4 chinchillas and fish. He was SICK of animals and he begged me not to bring anything else home.. so in the final letter (oh, and the date was Dec 31st 2007) I promised to not bring home anything else.. except ……………for what was in the back seat.. He rolled his eyes and looked quite upset… I opened the back seat and pulled out a small pet carrier that was covered in a towel, I wiggled it around like something was moving in it and I grinned and held it up for him to see. He glanced inside without much enthusiasm and saw a small dog bed, he didn’t seem to look too hard so I opened it up and told him to check it out. He glanced in again and then saw there was nothing inside except a piece of paper in the bed. He reached in and pulled out a piece of paper that had a picture of a baby curled up inside a sea shell and it said "CONGRATS DADDY!!!!!!!!!!" and a picture of the pregnancy test taped to it. He stared at it for a while before it dawned on him, then I don’t know if he was more excited about the baby or not another animal but he was sooooooooooooooooooo excited!!!!!!!!!! It was definitely a moment to remember!!!!
here are some other ideas I have considered or have heard about:
*Making a cake in the shape of a women with a pregnant belly with the #2 on her belly
*After dinner, ask if anybody’s still hungry – because you’ve got a bun in the oven!
*Serving beef stew- which is one of my hubby’s favorite meals- and writting on the bottom of the bowl something like ‘soon to be dinner for 4" or "I wonder if the new baby will like stew too?" or something like that so when he finishes eating he sees it!
*Having our daughter wear an outfit that says "im the big sister!" or "I love my baby brother/sister"
*Serving a meal of BABY back ribs, BABY corn, BABY carrots and everything minaturized!
*His cousin has a 1 week old baby boy so I was considering having him hold the baby and telling him he is going to have to get back into the habit of caring for such a tiny thing. or something like that.
*making a multi layed cake and writting something on paper and putting it in a plastic bag, placing the bag in between the layers so when he cuts the cake he finds it
*leaving the test on the back of the toilet for him to find
*getting another high chair and putting it at the table and see how long it takes him to notice
*we’re getting a toddler bed for our baby girls 2nd birthday and so I was going to tell him not to bother breaking down the crib since we’re going to need it!
I have a few more ideas but I am tired of typing lol
Please share with me any ideas you have no matter how silly they seem! I’d love to find something that will be memorable forever!!! THANKS! ![]()

OMG I love your ideas and the way you surprised him the first time =) I like the *making a multi layed cake and writting something on paper and putting it in a plastic bag, placing the bag in between the layers so when he cuts the cake he finds it
I would also make each layer a different color… pink and blue
I also like the after dinner, ask if he’s still hungry and say you got a bun in the oven!
take a photo of the positive test with your mobile and send it to your partner while he is at work/out.
You could have a t-shirt made for your daughter that says something along the lines of "I am going to be a big sister" or "future big sister" or something similar. Or you could get a bun and put it in the oven, when he gets home tell him there is something in the oven for him "a bun in the oven".
When I told my husband I was pregnant with our son, I had my daughter (almost 4yo at the time) take him the positive test and tell him that she was going to be a big sister.
Hope this helps.
